Audiobook narrators are typically paid hourly or with royalty shares. The going rate is between $10 and $100 is per finished hour (PFH); more experienced narrators receive between $100 and $350 PFH. Many authors prefer to pay royalties which costs them nothing upfront. ACX gets half the profits from each sale, while the author and narrator each get 25%. This amounts to about $2 per sale.
